Divity Health is excited to announce our development of an innovative patient-centered electronic health record (EHR) for occupational health services with our developer Exilion! The development is funded by Innovate UK with our partner Oxford Medistress.
Why do we develop a patient-centered EHR?
The current problems with non-patient-centered EHR in occupational health are:
(1) Obstacles in data flow between occupational health and their treating doctors: GP’s, specialists, or therapists, which delays returning to full duties in some cases and results in sub-optimal care and advice
(2) Occupational health data provide very limited or no insight into the patient's own health and well-being at work.
(3) Patients have limited control over their health data and share it with relevant professionals.
The EHR we are developing is called GADiEHL [TM] (Global Access to Delivery in Employee Health Ledger TM), which will address these obstacles and improve employee health. As an example (2), the patient can take corrective action once they have a better understanding of their health. This includes sleep hygiene measures if they have poor sleep quality or are stressed. Such improvement in wellbeing is likely to reduce the burden on the NHS on treating services and appointments.
GADiEHL [TM] will, by the nature of its patient-centered architecture, improve access to occupational health for SMEs (SME is a business of less than 50 employees) and the self-employed (those who were previously disadvantaged to have OH access in the UK). We aim to move to a globally accessible platform with Exilion support.
The long-term goal of GADiEHL [TM] is to enhance work participation (reduce sickness absence and early exit from employment and improve work performance).
We are currently busy developing a Minimum Viable Product in Phase I and will progress to a fully trusted and secure platform in Phase II.
